About Mike
You can tell a lot about a person by the things that are most important to them. Mike Quam is one of those people. He knows that in the busy world that we live in, having someone to walk with you, not behind or in front of you, can make all the difference.
When Mike moved to the southern Twin Cities area in the early 80’s, he was surprised not only about how cold it was here, but how much he liked it. Having grown up in a military family he was used to moving, but from his first steps into Minnesota he had a feeling this move was going to be different, and it was. It was the last move that Mike made. After finishing school, Mike decided to make Minnesota his home. His family was here and having them close by was important to him.
Growing up Mike always had a passion for building things. He was fascinated with how things worked, and spent countless hours creating his own masterpieces. As he grew, his passion was fueled by taking things apart, like cars or electronics, and learning how to put them back together. It is this passion that led him down the first steps of his path.
Mike stepped into the car business where he honed his skills in the service industry. After years of management, Mike still felt as if something was missing. His passion for building things was surfacing again, leading him on a new career path into the world of real estate.
Mike’s passion for construction landed him in New Construction Sales. He not only had the opportunity to be apart of the building process, but he was able to become more familiar with several suburbs of the southern Twin Cities area. He also met his wife Lauren and started a family of his own.
As the years passed, and their family grew, Mike learned the joy that children can bring. From the first time he held them in his arms he knew that they would be counting on him for help along the way. “There is nothing like watching a child see something for the first time and know that they are learning something new.”
As he has gone through life, Mike has always believed that learning needs to continue. He has always said that it is better to know a little about a lot of things, then to only know a lot about one thing. It is this philosophy that has led his wife to refer to him as a “renaissance man.” She says that there is never a task that he can’t handle, from fixing the dishwasher to wiring the family room for surround sound.
This philosophy is not only applied at home. Over the years, he discovered that there are more aspects to real estate than just new construction, as he broadened his horizons and honed his skills in the existing market. His knowledge and expertise serve him well in both arenas, as he has the ability to meet the needs of every buyer or seller.
If you were to ask Mike what he values most, he would say family and friends. There’s nothing better than being able to come home from work and have your daughter run into your arms saying “daddy,” and then be able to sit down to relax and watch a movie. It is moments like these that turn a house into a home. Mike enjoys a career that allows him to work with a wide range of people and would love to work with you every step of the way.
